Symantec Endpoint Protection Virus Definitions Date Problem

An issue has been identified in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) server whereby all types of SEP definition content [AV/AS, IPS] with a date later than December 31, 2009 11:59pm are considered to be "out of date."

Customers running SEP are still protected, and Symantec is continuing to release updated definitions as normal. However, for the time being, SEP definitions will display a date of December 31, 2009, with increasing revision numbers. Current certified definitions are December 31, 2009 rev 114 and contain updates through January 2, 2010.

Symantec is working on a solution and will update customers when a solution becomes available.

IMPORTANT: This issue does not impact any other enterprise products (e.g. SAV or SCS) or consumer products.

SEP11和SEP12 目前自动更新（受管理/非管理客户端）病毒定义为2009年12月31日rev114，实际已包含至1月2日的定义，可确保系统的安全
非管理客户端可至官方网站下载病毒定义www.sarc.com，手动更新

自动病毒定义目前将继续以2009年12月31日revxxx，递增数字的形式更新，与下载的离线升级包，包含相同的病毒定义，可安心使用

我用离线升级包升级到1月3号了，结果更新就总显示没有

For example a logic like this could have been applied:

IF YEAR < 10
THEN YEAR = YEAR + 2000
ELSE YEAR = YEAR + 1900

Hacks like that would create problems now, in 2009 and 2010.
