System freezes when external hard drive is connected

Important!
This issue has been resolved in version 5.0.95. Please follow the recommended instructions below to upgrade to the latest version of your ESET security product. Visit the following ESET Knowledgebase article to determine which version you have:

•Which ESET security product do I have and is it the latest version?
•System Freezes using USB storage devices (e.g., hard drive) with Windows XP and ESET version 5.0.94


Solution


I. Uninstall your existing ESET security product

1.Click Start  All Programs  ESET  Uninstall.

2.After completing the uninstallation, you will need to restart your computer.

3.After restarting, confirm that you can see hidden files and folders by clicking Start  Control Panel  Folder Options  View and select the Show hidden files and folders option.

4.Click Start  My Computer and navigate to and delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\ESET
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET
C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\ESET

Windows Vista and Windows 7 Users must delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\ESET
C:\ProgramData\ESETII. Reinstall without activating


II. Reinstall without activating


1.Download the offline installer (.msi) for your Windows ESET security product by clicking one of the appropriate download buttons below. If are unsure if your system is 32 or 64-bit, click here to determine which installation package to download.

2.Once the download has completed, you may be prompted to click Run and begin the installation process. If the installer does not run automatically, navigate to your Desktop or wherever you saved the download file and double-click it to open.

3.Follow the steps in the installation wizard to complete your installation.
Important!
DO NOT activate the software by entering your Username and Password at this time.  

4.On the Automatic update screen, DO NOT enter your Username and Password.

Select the check box next to Set update parameters later and then click Next.

5.Once the installation is complete, click Finish to exit the installation wizard.

6.Restart your computer.


III. Activate your product

1.Open the main program window by double-clicking the ESET icon  in your Windows notification area or by clicking Start  All Programs  ESET  ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

2.From the main program window, click Update on the left and then click Product activation....

3.In the Product Activation Type window, select Activate using a Username and Password and then click Next >.

4.Enter your ESET Username and Password and click Activate. If you forgot your Username or Password, refer to your license email or visit our lost license page to have it emailed to you.

依然用4.2中···最新的版本的麦田汉化版安装之后不知道怎么回事，把镜像服务器安装上启动系统之后会卡一下，然后就好了····
