The version number of the new release will be 16.7.2.10 for NAV and NIS and 3.5.2.10 for Norton 360 v3.

The FAQ below tries to answer some common questions:

1. What is the version number for this patch?

For Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security, the version number is 16.7.2.10.
For Norton 360 v3, the version number is 3.5.2.10.

2. When will I receive the patch?

Asa standard practice, we will be deploying the patch in a phased manner.On Tuesday, 18th of August, we will be releasing the patch to the firstbatch of few randomly selected customers. Once the patch is released,we will monitor our telemetry and this forum for any problem reports orissues. If we find problems in the field, we will update the patch,test it and release it again.
If we do not find any issues, wewill make the patch available to all customers. We will keep the NortonCommunity abreast of our exact date of the patch release to allcustomers.

3. How can I manually install or upgrade to NAV/NIS 2009.7 (16.7) or Norton 360 v3.5?

AllNAV/NIS 2009 and N360 v3 customers will receive this patch. In case youwant to install NAV/NIS or Norton 360 on a new Windows 7 machine, youwill need to install this release. This release will be posted on the Norton Update Center within a few days of the patch being posted.
Please note that all customers with a valid subscription will receive this update for free.

4.What are the changes in this release?

- Several Windows 7 compatibility fixes（数个Windows 7兼容性补丁）
- Support for migrating Vista to Windows 7（支持从VSITA到Windows 7的迁移）
- Fixed issue where Windows Defender was disabled on every reboot（修复每次重启后Windows Defender失效的问题）
-Norton Toolbar support for Firefox 3.5 in this release. IPS Add-on forFirefox 3.5 will be released later, as communicated by Athena before.（工具条支持火狐3.5，IPS支持补丁即将发布）
- Fixed LiveUpdate failures caused by hosts running behind a proxy（修复由于主机使用代理运行后LiveUpdate失败）
- Fixed top install failures seen in the field
- Fixed patching issues seen with 16.5 patch（修复已发现16.5补丁的问题）



For NAV/NIS customers, this patch also includes fixes from 16.5, 16.2and 16.1 patches. Note that Norton 360 v3 already had all theapplicable fixes that were part of NAV/NIS 16.5, 16.2 and 16.1 patches.

晕了，只是兼容性好了啊，主要针对windows7和升级bug，其他没什么改变，看英文就知道

此次更新除了修复几个 bug 之外，最主要的就是更新了支持 Window 7 以及 FF 3.5 下的 Norton Toolbar，但是 Norton IPS 仍未支持 FF 3.5。所以，对于不使用 WIndows 7 以及  FF 或者已经安装了早前 FF Norton Toolbar 兼容补丁的用户，此次的版本更新意义不大。
