Thu, 11 January 2007 The producer of AntiVir is exhibiting in hall 7, stand B14
Tettnang, 11 January 2007 – CeBIT is coming up and Avira will be there with new security tools for professional and private computer use: in hall 7, stand B14. The German security expert will be presenting a wide range of new products in Hanover from 15 to 21 March: the highlight of the trade fair is the Avira SmallBusiness Suite, with which small and medium-sized businesses can protect their IT environments quickly and easily against malware and spam. For private and SOHO use (small office, home office), Avira will be demonstrating in particular the Avira Premium Security Suite with an anti-spam and anti-phishing module. CeBIT visitors can also look forward to the unique Avira Rootkit Detection and Removal Technology, which will in future be integrated in the Avira AntiVir Windows desktop products. Avira’s baggage for the trade fair also contains security solutions for the Windows Vista operating system and alternative platforms such as UNIX. The CeBIT range is rounded off by security products for 64-bit computing. More:
With the new Avira SmallBusiness Suite, small and medium-sized businesses can centrally manage their entire network environment (desktops, servers, mail servers, proxy servers) on Windows and/or UNIX and protect it from all types of software. The suite is completely adapted to the requirements and security needs of SMBs and has an integrated installation and configuration assistant, with which even more complex IT environments can be handled simply and precisely. The security environment can be managed centrally via the Avira Security Management Center during operation.
In addition to the tried and tested protection against viruses and/or malware, the recently presented Avira Premium Security Suite offers private and SOHO users a personal firewall for reliable control of incoming and outgoing data traffic. Now more functions are being added to the security package for the stand-alone PC: the Avira Premium Security Suite also contains an anti-spam and antiphishing module, with which unwanted e-mails can be filtered out either automatically or in accordance with an individual profile. The new Avira Rootkit Detection and Removal Technology software is also integrated.
The new Avira Rootkit Detection and Removal Technology finds malware on company and private computers with which the presence of an attacker on the affected PC can be concealed. Via these so-called rootkits, hackers can access a system unnoticed at any time, for example. The Avira technology prevents such scenarios by not only detecting active rootkits but also by reliably removing the dangerous intruders. The software will first be presented at CeBIT and will be integrated in all Avira security products for Microsoft Windows desktops from April 2007.
Avira has also done its homework as far as the Windows Vista roll-out is concerned and will present the new version of the Avira AntiVir Workstation on Windows Vista at CeBIT. The solution for professional use corresponds to the security philosophy of the new operating system and supports not only the extended functions of the Windows Vista Security Center but also the new Vista security component User Account Control. Avira thus completely supports the security concept of Vista. The Avira products for private and SOHO use – Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic and Premium and the Avira Premium Security Suite – are also available for the new Microsoft operating system Microsoft from April 2007.
From spring 2007, all current AntiVir Windows desktop products, such as Avira AntiVir Windows Workstation, Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic and Premium as well as the Avira Premium Security Suite will support Windows-XP 64-bit computing.
Note to the press:
At CeBIT, Avira will be holding a press conference on its new product innovations and current security standards on 16 March from 1.00 to 2.00 p.m. in the CC room 108/109.
