关于 McAfee8.8-P1 “跳票” 的一些消息和说明

This much needed patch release is to be a mandatory rated patch. We need to be very certain that the patch we post meets our expectations for quality, and as many of yours as we can. Some things we couldn't complete in the patch release have plans for resolution soon afterward (e.g. the event 516 noise). And any surprises need to be dealt with appropriately too.

This could mean you are waiting a bit longer for resolution to an issue, or migration path to the latest and greatest, but if the patch release is successful in the field it's believed it will be worth it.

The patch is ready for most customer environments, but a couple more outstanding concerns need to be resolved before we can give it a green light. For now I can only say release is "soon" or "pending". If I learn something more impacting than expected comes up that prevents us posting this week, I'll let you know.

补丁是为大多数客户环境的准备，但一些少量却值得注意的问题在得到解决之前，我们不会发布。现在我只能说，发布“很快”或“即将”。如果我知道了更多的一些事情阻止了本应在这个星期发布的补丁，我会告诉你们。

Our managed release program typically is a 4 week period.

3、（2011-10-18）Yeah, that was one of the possible futures at the time I posted.
Now we'll be posting either later this week or early next. The additional time wasn't due to any issues being found, but just to lower some risk and conversely raise some confidence in other areas. A few days is all that should be required.

这是一个在国内被称为“临时工”的角色，即可以相对权威的发布/泄漏消息，又可以在回复中夹杂私人情绪，还可以规避潜在风险。。。

ps：国外很多。。。非咖啡专利，苹果目前也没申请。。。

个人觉得发言起码不要急躁，还没真正做好的话应该不可以说：“很快”“将要”这些字眼吧，让人老觉得跳票。
