These tracking tools, or “trackers”, record the sites you visit and maintain a history over time which reveals your habits, preferences and website activities. This information is then typically sold to create more effective target marketing campaigns. The ABS Do Not Track Me feature is capable of blocking all trackers by default and allowing some exceptions should you wish to permit certain companies to learn more about your interests. This can be a benefit in the right circumstances, for instance when presenting ads tailored to your interests and hobbies or suggesting websites you may also be interested in. Do Not Track Me provides the peace of mind that what you do online is not recorded, resold or used to target you in any way.
Safe Search – When performing a web search, this feature implements the Avira URL Cloud™ technology to scan ahead in the search results and inform you if any of them contain malicious or potentially harmful content. If it does, that link is clearly marked as “unsafe”, and you are encouraged not to visit it. If you do click that link, you are additionally warned about the risks. You can still opt to continue to the unsafe website if you choose, but we will always try our best to protect you.
Safe Browsing – The Avira URL Cloud also protects you directly from harmful sites you may try to visit. If you enter a web address that is known as unsafe, which means it contains potentially malicious code, viruses, malware, etc…, you are warned in advance, prior to visiting the website. |
