New version (15505) of FS Protection for Mac released

We are pleased to announce that a new release of the FS Protection for Mac is now available. This update is now available for download from My FS Protection, and will be delivered automatically to existing installations today.

This release brings a number of bug fixes and a couple of new features. Check out the new "Virus protection" tab in the Preferences for new options.

One important new feature is integration of F-Secure Security Cloud in the real-time scanning feature. It will bring greater detection capability and shorter response times for F-Secure Labs for new malware and can also improve performance as the Security Cloud learns about common clean files.

Note: Because Security Cloud is a new core component, there is a very small chance that it can cause new issues causing the machine to slow down or halt temporarily. If you experience difficulties with this new version, try disabling Security Cloud from the FS Protection Virus protection preferences. In the rare case that your computer becomes unresponsive and doesn't recover automatically, please reboot your Mac into "Safe mode" by holding down the shift key. Open the FS Protection pane from System Preferences, and uncheck the "Security Cloud" checkbox and reboot again.

If experiencing any issues, please run the "Support Tool" in the Applications -> FS Protection folder and submit a bug report with the file created to allow us to investigate the issue.
