Mcafee VirusScan 8.5 在历经4个Beta版本后,在11月11日发布RC,最近的McAfee Beta Program 邮件预告最终版将在11月21日发布.内含邮件全文.

Greetings McAfee Beta Participants,

We are pleased to announce the availability of VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i
Release Candidate.

What's New with the Release Candidate:

VSE self-protection is enabled by default

Enhanced Self Protection - The 8.5 release adds functionality that
prevents an attacker or malware from disabling VSE/ASE in order to
further compromise a target. Enhanced self protection uses the improved
Access Protection Rules to lock down VSE/ASE from alteration. For
example, a rule can be enabled to prevent modification of McAfee files
and settings or prevent termination of McAfee processes

The RTW posting of VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i has been delayed.   A new RTW date will be made available the week of November 27th. As an important component of our release testing, McAfee does extensive early testing and phased deployment of our products (called McAfee-in-Action or MIA) to nearly all of our systems throughout our global network. The purpose of this process is to test our products in real-world scenarios and in combinations that a test environment cannot replicate. Our most recent VSE 8.5i MIA deployment uncovered several issues which have warranted further investigation. As this investigation is not yet complete, McAfee has determined that the best course of action for our customers is to delay the VSE 8.5i RTW.
