AVIRA wins AV-Comparatives’ 2016 product of the year; Bitdefender and Kaspersky Lab named Outstanding Product winners
Free comparative Summary Report from AV-Comparatives reveals winners of its rigorous annual test for consumer IT security.
8th February 2017, Innsbruck AV-Comparatives, the global independent antivirus testing lab, today announces the publication of its freely available annual AV-Comparatives’ Summary Report.
Austrian-based antivirus test-institute AV-Comparatives (AV-C) has released its extensive Summary Report for 2016. The report provides comparable in-depth performance insights on consumer security products for Microsoft Windows carried out by AV-C in 2016. The report allows customers to see who outperformed the competition in granular detail.
AV-Comparatives subjected the most well-known Windows security products to rigorous investigation for its 2016 Summary Report. All the programs were tested for their ability to do the following:
● Protect against real-world Internet threats;
● Identify thousands of recent malicious programs;
● Provide protection without slowing down the PC; and
● Remove malware that had already infected a PC.

The top award of 2016 went to AVIRA for Anti-Virus Pro. Avira has been named AV-Comparatives’ 2016 Product of the Year. Bitdefender’s Internet Security and Kaspersky Lab’s Internet Security offering were both very close runners up with nearly identical scores, being named Outstanding Products for 2016.
