We are pleased to announce the exclusive first release of Avira Crypto. With Avira Crypto you can safely and easily turn your computers idle time into an opportunity to earn digital currency. It allows you to use your device computational power to mine cryptocurrency while protected by Avira Security. Avira Crypto is currently available only to the participants of Avira Security for Windows beta community who have Avira Security installed and meet our determined minimum system requirements for the Crypto program. Currently, Avira Crypto is limited to mining Ether, which is the cryptocurrency of the Ethereum network. This test will focus on a new feature, Avira Crypto: - New functionality to mine Ethereum safely
We are interested in the following aspects: - First insights: Your thoughts and suggestions on the new feature
- Technical stability: Finding bugs and unexpected behavior
- User-friendliness: Evaluating ease of use
Hardware and software requirements:
If you meet the below hardware and software requirements you will see the Avira Crypto feature in the main left navigation of the app. - Avira Security version 1.1.52 (If you don’t have this version, you can download it from here).
- High End GPU with minimum 6GB GPU Memory (this feature is only visible if you have compatible hardware).
- You must be logged in with your Avira account into the app.
Important: - This beta feature includes functionalities to earn, withdraw digital currency, and create a digital wallet. Testing this feature might require you to do some of these tasks.
- This beta feature is not at the level of performance or compatibility of a final, generally available, offering. It has not been thoroughly tested. It may contain defects of deficiencies some of which cannot be corrected.
