Blink outperformed the leading industry heavyweights not only in its ability to block exploits and attacks but also in detecting malware and preventing attacks. “Overall, eEye performed best in detecting exploits” with “a comprehensive solution” and “excellent protection.” As well, “eEye includes a copy of its comprehensive Retina security scanner on every host; it’s a powerful suite that can discover several hundred potential security flaws and propose fixes.”
Blink was also lauded for having “a well organized, intuitive management interface.” Blink’s built-in reporting was highlighted for offering features for creating custom queries in its published database schema, and Blink received high marks for integrating disparate components of its endpoint security suite into a comprehensive and manageable desktop security software product.
One of the unique aspects of the Information Security Magazine test was testing solutions against real-world zero-day attacks. Zero-day threats are one of the most critical threats to enterprises and continue to grow. Blink was the only product that successfully defended all the zero-day exploits of third-party applications, while companies such as IBM’s ISS, Sophos, McAfee, Trend Micro, and Symantec “allowed zero-day attacks.” This is yet again another testament to Blink providing the best end-point HIPS protection against real-world attacks.
Information Security’s tests focused on integrated endpoint security products that include signature-based antivirus and antispyware, personal firewall, host-based IPS, and central management and reporting capabilities.
