The BitDefender Antivirus 2009 Beta Concept for Mac campaign has been launched!

During the following period, we will be delivering several beta kits including your suggestions, requirements and bug fixes.
BitDefender Antivirus 2009 for Mac is an antivirus designed to provide antivirus protection for your Mac computer. This product works under Mac OS X, so it can be used on any Mac with an Intel processor.
In the Beta 1 kit, the main product features are:
• On-demand scanner
• Real-time Antivirus protection
• Malware signatures and engine Updates

The types of malware targeted by this product are:
- Virus
- Trojans
- Spyware
- Backdoor
- Rootkit (from Win)
Any of these malware types, either existing „in the wild” or old will be detected and also future threats will be addressed by signature updates.
While a virus may not affect your Mac, BitDefender Antivirus will detect it if downloaded from the internet or received by e-mail, instant messaging or by any other means. Therefore, you will be aware of it and not send it to a PC that could be infected by it. BitDefender Antivirus for Mac also provides dual protection: for MacOS X and Windows (if both MacOS X and Win are installed on the Mac, the malware from both will be detected)
