Avira  亚洲首个分行确定是在马来西亚！

Kuala Lumpur, March 26- Avira GmbH, a German-based IT security company announced that it has set up its first Asia subsidiary in Malaysia.

The new subsidiary, named Avira Sdn Bhd, is led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kar Aik Lim and Chief Operating Officer Ms. Carol Lim.
Speaking at the press conference, Chief Executive Officer of Avira GmbH, Tjark Auerbach said “ We set up the first subsidiary here is to build a local team because we are seeing that Malaysia has a strong user group in this sector. We hope we will build a good relationship with the local customer and offer them the good local service and superb detection”.

Auerbach added “ There are 80 million users of the free Anti Virus (Avira AntiVir Personal) and approximately 1 million users is from Malaysia based on what we have seen in our server,”.

Avira also said that it has plans to establish an R&D centre in one of the prominent Cybercentres in Malaysia. There are also plans to host their update servers here which are only available in Germany and Romania at the moment.

Currently, the Avira Premium Security Suite cost about 39,95 euro or somewhere around RM200 while most of the Internet Security Suite in the market cost about RM100. However Kar Aik said that the pricing of Avira product will be affordable in Malaysia without disclosing the exact pricing.

According to Auerbach, Avira has spent about RM5 million for the new Avira Sdn Bhd. The new subsidiary is majority owned by Avira GmbH and it is expected to start operation in April this year.

Avira released the the latest version 9 of its product last week. The latest version of AntiVir Premium and Premium Security Suite is expected be available in Malaysia within the next two weeks.
