Finding which folders are taking the largest space on the hard driveis an annoying job. I am compiling a few tools here which can help yousee the hard drive contents in a graphical and easy to understandmanner. In this way you can better organize your hard drive stuff andkeep it clean.
OverDisk

OverDisk is a great little tool that canshow the hard drive contents in the way they’re placed on the harddrive. Every folder can be shown like this. You just have to select thefolder and a graphical implementation of that folder will be shown.It’s still in it beta version.

WinDirStat
WinDirStat is a popular disk space organizer and cleaner tool. Itreads the whole directory tree once and then presents it in threeuseful views:

• The directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size.
• The treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away.
• The extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types.

SpaceSniffer
SpaceSniffer is the latest of the finds and gives an idea of how the drive contents are structured on the drive.
Start a scan process and see the overall situation. Bigger are theelements on the view, bigger are folders and files on your disk. Youneed more detail on a big folder? Just single click on it. The selected element will be detailed with its content.
Need more and more detail? Keep selecting elements and they’lldiscover their secrets to you. Need a larger view of a small folder?Then double click on it, and it’ll zoom to the full extent of the view.
