Here are a list of known issues with the latest Public Beta build. We're already aware of these issues and will have them resolved prior to final release.



- Internal product debug logging is enabled by default.  As a result the product may function slightly slower than normal.



- The Public Beta build may pick up on the remaining Subscription Days from the previous Public Beta installation. If this happens, simply use the rest of the subscription days from the previous Public Beta license. Once the subscription expires, you will have the opportunity to activate with the new Public Beta Activation Key.



- hsplayer.exe may shut down unexpectedly after closing One Click Support.



- Installing over a previous beta build, or previous version of the Norton Product may fail and ask you to manually uninstall the older version/build first. Launch Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel and uninstall the previous build.



- Network Connectivity may be lost after rebooting. If this happens, be sure to Start the Network List Service in services.msc (Start/Run/Services.msc).



- The Norton Add-On Pack is not compatible with builds older than 17.0.0.111.



- You may receive a Subscription Expiration alert telling you that your subscription is about to expire when you have more than 3 days left.





- Full Virus Defintions will not be updated as frequently as they will be when the product is released. We're making significant changes to the Virus Definition set during the beta phase. Because of this, we will not be able to publish Full Virus Defintions as frequently we do the released products. This may cause your Security Status on the Main User Interface to read Needs Attention. Do NOT use the Intelligent Updater to download and update the Virus Definitions manually, as they will not function properly with the 2010 beta.  LiveUpdate will download the Full Virus Definitions when they are available. Streaming Definitions will continue to be downloaded during this time. Please note: LiveUpdate and Intelligent Updater are different. LiveUpdate is the update engine built in to the Norton product - LiveUpdate works fine with 2010. Intelligent Updater is a separate download that you can get from Symantec.com that contains Virus Definitions that you can manually apply to your Norton product , but is not compatible with 2010.  
Windows 7 Users

Users testing Windows 7 along with Norton Internet Security 2010 or Norton AntiVirus 2010 may come across some issues that were corrected with later non-public builds of Windows 7. The issues listed below are issues that are already corrected with Windows 7 builds, or will be corrected on a future Windows 7 build:

- This program has known compatibility issues dialog may display when running the 2010 beta. The dialog will also refer to the program as Norton 360. Check the Don't show this message again box, and click on Run program.

- Norton Add-On Pack Download Manager may not install on Windows 7. If it fails, please follow the information in this document to install.

- Windows may not recognize that AntiVirus/Firewall are installed on the Windows Action Center.
