Update for Case #19370 - "nod32 can't detect nspack"
An ESET Customer Care Representative has updated this case with the following information:
Hello,
To thoroughly scan and remove any viruses on your computer please do the following.
STEP 1: Open the “NOD32 Control Center”. You can do this by going to start>All Programs>Eset>NOD32 Control Center.
STEP 2: Click on “NOD32” in the Control Center then click “RunNOD32” in the window that just opened to the right.
STEP 3: Wait a few seconds then click on the SETUP tab. Ensure all boxes are checked except “List all files” and “Wrap Log”.
STEP 4: Click on the Actions tab. For “If an alert is generated” select “Clean”. For “If cleaning cannot be performed” select “Delete”, finally push “Quit” and “YES” to save.
STEP 5: Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE. This can be done by turning off your PC and as soon as you turn it on push [F8] every second. Finally, select SAFE MODE then hit Enter when the option is displayed. Select Administrator to login.
STEP 6: Go to start>All Programs>Eset>NOD32, then select “Scan & Clean”.
STEP 7: After scan is completed reboot your PC as you normally do, then go to start>All Programs>Eset>NOD32 Control Center.
STEP 8: Click on “NOD32” in the Control Center then click on "Run NOD32" then "Scan & Clean".
NOTE: During both scans, if you are unable to clean or delete the file please do the following. Write down the name of the infected file and the path (where it’s located) and select “LEAVE” to continue the scan. After both scans are completed, please manually remove the infected files or uninstall the program the infected file is in. If you are unable to remove manually, you will be able to do so if you boot your PC into safe mode.
If you do not want to manually remove the file, please provide a copy of the "Scanner Log" for the second scan so we can research this further.
To get the Scanner Log please do the following...
Please go NOD32 Control Center (down by the clock) > Logs > NOD32 Scanner logs.
In this window, please locate that scan by the date, and right click on it and choose Details, from the pop up menu.
In the new window, please right click again and choose "Copy all".
You can now paste that into your reply.
