Hi *,

we'll soon be releasing a new build of avast 5 Free/Pro/IS. As usual, we're making the build available for public testing before it's officially released (so far the version number is 5.0.656).


How to get it
Free AV:

Pro AV:
http://files.avast.com/files/beta/5.0.656/setup_av_pro.exe
Internet Security:
http://files.avast.com/files/beta/5.0.656/setup_ais.exe

How to install it
Just run the setup executable (links above). You can either install it from scratch, or on top of an existing avast installation (installing over both 5.0.xxx or 4.8.yyy should be fine). A reboot will be required to complete the installation.

What's new
Most notable improvements include:
- solved a problem that could lead to disappearing of the avast service
- Behavior Shield: solved a minor stability issue (aswSP.sys)
- performance and stability improvements in the avast! sandbox
- changes in the engine allowing us to generically detect/block some new types of exploits
- speed improvements in the updater
- IS: fixed a vulnerability in aswFw.sys (Secunia Advisory SA40868)
- IS: upgraded to the new version of antispam engine
- minor changes and fixes in the GUI
- fixes in the screen reader support
- added Danish and Hebrew language packs
