The Mozilla Foundation has released the webbrowser Firefox in Version 3.6.14 which fixes 10
security vulnerabilities – of which the developers consider 8 to be of “high” risk. Thus
using older versions of Firefox (and Thunderbird or the Seamonkey Suite) can lead to full
system compromise (infected PC with a Trojan) by just surfing to a hacked website.

The updated Firefox webbrowser can be downloaded on the project website or via the “Check for
Updates” entry in the “help”-menu. The most recent mail program Thunderbird has its own
website, too. The vulnerabilities are fixed within the Mozilla Suite Seamonkey as well. Users
of these programs should install the updates as soon as possible as attacks against the
security flaws are likely to appear soon!
