AVG Family Safety is now available for beta testing
March 18, 2011

We are proud to announce availability of our AVG Family Safety product for public beta testing.

All of you who were registered beta testers on 14th March 2011 can join this beta test immediately. If you joined our community on 15th March or later, then please contact us through email beta.manager@avg.com and we'll create an AVG Family Safety account for you.



How to join AVG Family Safety beta test?

- Join project AVG Family Safety

- Download installation binary from AVG Family Safety project

- Install AVG Family Safety on your computer

- Use your beta portal access credentials to finalize installation and get access to AVG Family Safety settings



What is AVG Family Safety?

- AVG Family Safety is protection against improper web content from family of parental controls products



What are features of AVG Family Safety?

- Block or report visit of sites with improper content (e.g. sex, drugs, weapons, ...)

- Define times, when internet can and can't be used

- Report attempts to access prohibited sites via sms or email

- Block execution of selected applications and games such as eMule, Counter Strike or Skype

- Use black and white lists to modify preset setting

- Create different security profile for each household member



Known limitations

- In-application links (My account, Preferences, Help) to web doesn't work and lead to non-existing page

- Webhledani.cz is classified incorrectly

- iCat feature is not working

- IM: Secure Site Blocked windows are opened repeatedly

- Sending mail notifications doesn't work

- Summary tab of Activity Monitoring section contains no data
