	Dear McAfee Beta Tester, Thank you again for participating in McAfee’s beta testing program. McAfee Total Protection 2.0 Beta is now available for you to download and try out! Here’s how the McAfee Total Protection 2.0 Beta Testing Program works: Each week, we will send instructions on what we’d like tested with the new software. These will be accompanied by a short survey. You can communicate directly with our software development team, via a message board, accessible from the Home and Home Office Beta website. As a way to thank and inspire you, we have a rewards program. If you find and report a major bug, you could earn a prize! Also, if you keep the beta software installed and fill out the final survey, you will receive a free year-long subscription to the McAfee Home and Home Office security suite of your choice. GETTING STARTED: To install beta products: 1. Go to http://beta.mcafee.com. 2. Before installing the beta product, click McAfee Virtual Technician. The McAfee Virtual Technician will gather baseline information about your computer. 3. Click Download. 4. Click I Agree to accept the end user license agreement. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run Download Manager. 6. Sign up for the Home and Home Office Beta Program Message Board (login credentials separate from the beta program required). 7. Complete this week’s survey at http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB226LDYB4Q3K Please provide feedback on issues or bugs you experience during installation. For example: Did the installation fail to detect and remove previous versions of McAfee products on your computer? Did the installation fail to detect third-party virus or spyware protection products? Did you see any errors during installation? MANUALLY CHECK FOR UPDATES After you install the beta products, wait a few days, and then try manually checking for updates. 1. Double-click the M icon () in the notification area at the far right of the taskbar, to open SecurityCenter. 2. In SecurityCenter, click Update. The update check starts when your computer is connected to the Internet. If you are not connected to the Internet, a warning message appears. For your convenience, when downloading, installing, or checking for updates, an animated icon appears in the notification area at the far right of the taskbar. When finished, the icon disappears. Please provide feedback on issues or bugs you experience during updates. For example: Did the update check show an expiration notice? The beta products should not expire until September 1, 2007. Did the update take too long or significantly reduce the speed of your computer?
